Billy Sng Wei Kan

Billy is a research-based conceptual artist. His interests lie in the melancholy nature of language and he explores language and poetics through machine-learning in his practice. The use of machine-learning in art and writing questions the nature of authorship, intentionality and chance. His writings, similar to postmodern literature, abandon overall semantics and pragmatics, and instead focus solely on the syntax and morphology of words. The act of meaning-making is left entirely to the reader, embracing subjectivity and allowing language to truly perform.
