MA Fine Arts
2021 — 2022

Jiaqi’s practice examines themes of individual sanctuaries amidst perennial changes of the urban environment, and social encounters amidst the city’s developments. By investigating the spatial conditions for sanctuaries to manifest, she contemplates the collective subconsciousness of yearning for a safe respite within the urban landscape.

Jiaqi studied painting at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and Visual Art and Drama education at the National Institute of Education. Her works have been part of public showcases including National Gallery Singapore’s Benefit Past.Present.Future. Her third solo exhibition, Ever-Were was held at Cuturi Gallery in 2021. She received a Highly Commended award in the 2021 UOB Painting of the Year, Emerging Artist category.
