Andrew Chin

BA(Hons) Music
2018 — 2022

Andrew started playing the electone and piano at the age of three, but soon fell in love with broadway music and jazz, on his journey in obtaining his ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano and Theory.

He has more than 25 years of experience in playing the pipe organ, electone, keyboard and piano, accompanying choirs for church masses, weddings and funerals, as well as praise and worship sessions with bands. His vast experience in playing various other keyboards, coupled with his reharmonisation skills, have led him to be highly sought after especially for church weddings and hotel lounge solo playing.

Andrew wishes to continue imparting and teaching his existing music students at a higher level with his new-found knowledge from LASALLE College of the Arts. Prior to LASALLE, he worked in the banking and financial sector, after graduating from the University of London with a BSc(Hons) in Banking and Finance.

Work

Andrew performed with a band at the Singapore Night Festival (2019). He frequently performed as piano soloist at Fullerton Hotel, Marriott Hotel and Regent Hotel. He was part of the winning team in piano improvisation for LASALLE’s annual showcase concert Piano Voyage (2018). Another of Andrew’s notable accomplishments was clinching first runner-up at MOE's inaugural National Music Arrangement & Performance Competition (2003) for training a group of students from Raffles Girls Primary School and rearranging the winning song.
