Niranjan is a Singaporean multi-award-winning exponent of bamboo flutes. Niranjan is known for his versatility and cross-cultural collaborations with musicians from around the globe. Niranjan graduated from Nrityalaya Aesthetics of Singapore, specialising in Indian bamboo flutes under the tutelage of Dr Ghanavenothan Retnam. Currently, he is receiving advanced training from Maestro Amit Nadig (India), Grammy nominee Pundit Shashank Subramanyam and Rit Xu.

Niranjan was also celebrated as one of Singapore's Unsung Icons for National Day 2021 by The Straits Times. Niranjan is the music director of award-winning Indo-Asean Contemporary ensemble Brahmastra, as well as a music composer who has composed background scores, EPs, singles and music for dance and drama productions. Niranjan is graduating with a BA(Hons) Music at LASALLE College of the Arts in 2022, and was awarded the prestigious NAC Arts Scholarship in 2019.

Work

Niranjan has performed with numerous bands, ensembles and orchestras for local and international festivals, concerts, media productions and workshops. Some productions include the 35th ASEAN Summit Opening Ceremony (2019), Bakshi Arts International Festival (2019) in Termez, Uzbekistan, Singapore Culture Festival (2019) in Hanoi, Bangkok Art Biennale (2018), ASEAN 50th Anniversary Concert (2018), Shanghai International Spring Music Festival (2017), Guangxi Arts Festival (2017), Thailand Official Countdown (2016), and the 35th ASEAN Day Celebrations Concert.

Niranjan has also been active in the local scene, having performed in numerous prestigious local festivals and media productions such as March Forward (2020), Octoburst (2020), Vasantham's Nenjukkule Season 1, Thaikkudam Bridge Concert (2017), Sid Sriram Concert (2019), Vasantham's Pradhana Vizha (2016), Mid-Autumn Festival, PAssionArts Festival, Heritage Festival, Culture Festival, Singapore Night Festival, Arts In Your Neighbourhood, Silver Arts Festival, The Arts House Textures Festival, Tamil Language Festival and Remembering Bharathiyar concert by National Library Singapore.

Niranjan is also the music director of an award-winning Indo-Asean Contemporary ensemble, Brahmastra. Niranjan has composed music for background scores, singles and EPs that have received numerous international accolades and awards at international film festivals.
