Afiq's keen interest in music marked the beginning of his musical journey at the age of nine, and he has been an aspiring guitarist and musician since. He completed and received certification in two guitar courses under Adam’s Apple Music Studio. He also completed the Grade 1 and Grade 8 Trinity College examinations in 2008 and 2019 respectively.

He continued learning from various veteran musicians such as Addy Cradle, among others, and was part of the Music and Drama Company during his National Service days as an NSF musician. He completed his Diploma in Music at LASALLE College of the Arts in 2016 and is graduating with his BA(Hons) Music degree, specialising in composition, in 2022. Afiq was also a bassoonist in Bishan Park Secondary School Symphonic Band. Afiq is looking to expand his musical knowledge and become a versatile professional musician and composer one day.

Work

As an aspiring musician and songwriter, Nur Afiq Jalaludin had the opportunity to perform in various events such as the Diploma Year 2 showcase hosted by LASALLE College Of The Arts in 2015. During his time in the Music and Drama Company from 2017–2019, he performed for various SAF-related events, including the Brunei Exchange Programme in 2019.

Afiq also had the opportunity to record guitars for singer/songwriter Thaddeus Lin on the songs 'I Must Go' and 'What’s This Feeling?' on his EP Wish It Rained Forever. Afiq also arranged and recorded all instrumentals on Cedric Curtiz’s song 'Mine'. Afiq released his first composition titled 'Twentyfive' under the artist name of AJ Music.
