Samuel is a classically-trained pianist who began learning the piano at the age of four. He completed his ABRSM Grade 8 Piano at the age of 14 and has performed in numerous festivals and concerts as a soloist. In school, Samuel is often involved in collaborative work with other musicians across different disciplines. Besides being a performer, he is also an avid arranger, composer and accompanist. Samuel strives to speak through his music and convey emotions, thoughts and imagery through his instrument. Samuel is graduating with a BA(Hons) Music, specialising in classical piano performance, from LASALLE College of the Arts, under the tutelage of Clarence Lee.

Work

Samuel received the Star Award at the 3rd Overseas Performers' Festival (2019) in Taiwan, where he also performed at the Gala Concert. At the Ars Nova Festival (2019), Samuel was also awarded the Star Award and performed at the Gala Concert. He participated in the 7th Singapore Performers' Festival, clinching the Gold Award.

Samuel was involved in several LASALLE initiatives, including two of LASALLE’s Piano Voyage concert instalments – Bel Amour: A Valentine's Season Piano Recital and a community outreach performance at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. He was also invited by the National Parks Board to perform for the i Light Singapore - Bicentennial Edition (2019) at Fort Canning Park. Samuel has performed at other notable venues such as Victoria Concert Hall, Esplanade Recital Studio, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Singapore Airlines Theatre and Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre.
