Chooi Wai Qi
Classically-trained with a Diploma in Piano Performance, Wai Qi is a budding sound engineer from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia who blends technical and creative craft in her works. During her high school years, Wai Qi developed a fascination with music production. Now, she is both a capable engineer and a musician equipped with a pair of trusted ears. She has experience working on soundtracks with students from the Puttnam School of Film & Animation, studio recordings, as well as numerous LASALLE live productions. Driven by her profound desire to become better, Wai Qi strives to face the entertainment industry head on.
Work
Wai Qi was the sound designer for the BA(Hons) Acting production Homesick (dir. Peter Zazzali). She served as the assistant head of audio for the Rock & Indie Festival (2020), where she worked closely with SSL Live consoles. She was also the soundtrack composer for The LASALLE Show 2020 short film Mera Bhai (dir. Shreela Agarwal), which was selected to screen at the 31st Singapore International Film Festival.
