The 'elite' discourse: Does privilege matter in arts education?
This thesis seeks to analyse the realm of arts education and its relationship with elitism. It focuses on the gap in experience between students of different schools, in the context of parentocracy and racial discourse, and analyses its possible influences on the arts education received by lower secondary students. This study also evaluates the developments that Malay students might experience through their learning.
