Amira is an author who takes inspiration from gothic literature and psychoanalytic theory. Her works explore the complexities of female friendships in modern-day Singapore. At 22, she was one of 11 finalists shortlisted for Mendaki's Anugerah Belia Cemerlang. She is a lover of mind-numbing books and feet-numbing walks.

Thesis work

Trace is a campus novel-in-progress that follows two 22-year-old business school students as they jump through many hoops to stay friends and graduate from university in one piece. The childhood best friends are revealed to be divided by their social standing amongst their university peers. Trace explores the nuances and intricacies of female friendships while rejecting the stereotype that women are unable to maintain lasting relationships with one another.
