Thesis work

Möbius is a novel excerpt that gives readers a glimpse into the intersection of gay life and Christian conversion therapy in the early 1990s. The story follows the protagonists Herman and Lucas as they navigate identity exploration, relationships with friends and family, affection for each other, and the church’s interventionist practices regarding homosexuality. On the one hand, we witness a resistance to church doctrines as Herman affirms his identity as a gay man. On the other hand, we gain insights into Lucas’ struggle to reconcile his trust in God and growing affection for Herman. Their lives collide and are locked in a loop of connection and separation over three decades against the backdrop of a changing Singapore.
