Mara Karma Bin Shahar

Mara has been fascinated by the arts since he was 13 years old. He grew up in a family of musicians, inheriting a passion for music and performance. Due to his love of performing, he wanted to learn how theatre productions are realised, from page to stage. This led to him to enrolling first in Performance Production at ITE College Central, followed by the Diploma in Technical and Production Management programme at LASALLE.

During his three years in LASALLE, Mara successfully took on production roles such as stage manager, assistant stage manager, prop maker and lighting operator. He has also worked with many reputable Singapore theatre practitioners including Tommy Wong, Samantha Scott-Blackhall, Cherilyn Woo and Erwin Shah Ismail, amongst many others. Mara wishes to continue working in the theatre industry, and is hopeful that he can one day see others perform his original works.
