Matthew is a creative technologist and designer who delivers print, digital, computational and experiential concepts. He is keen on design research and has a fondness for the academic side of design, aspiring to inspire others through the possibilities of design. Matthew believes that design exists to serve a purpose beyond merely creating functional and accessible works, but to establish an emotional connection with audiences.

Hello, I’m Here
Hello, I'm Here explores creative technology applications through an interactive and immersive installation. This work utilises machine learning-based facial expression recognition as a possible future interface that encourages audiences to recognise, interpret and communicate their emotions. The audience is invited to experience feelings that are communicated through changes in light.
