Gulistan Duran
Gulistan is a Turkish American New York-based interior designer. She has majored in chemistry, interior design and English literature. She came to Singapore for the first time to lead a commercial project and fell in love with the city and the people. A few months later, she applied to the MA Design programme at LASALLE College of the Arts. She combined her passion for nature and design in her research for her Master's. Her next goal is to become certfied as a LEED Green Associate to continue her career on an environmentally friendly path and educate others on the importance of nature conservation.

Nature Informed Design
Nature-informed design collects data from natural elements, translating them into design that allows nature and humans to co-exist harmoniously in urban environments. One of the most significant outcomes of such research is achieving a low cost, low-resolution and accurate design tool kit for collecting such data from a specific location, for the fields of design and development.
