Randy is a film director, designer and educator based in Singapore. As a filmmaker, he has written and directed commercials, music videos, television series and feature films. His commercial work includes clients like P&G, AirAsia, Singtel, United Overseas Bank and Temasek. As a designer, his accolades include awards in the Singapore Design Awards, Creative Circle Awards and Conqueror Awards. His research focuses on examining the role of design within low-funded community-based initiatives and the impact of designers collaboratively designing with their stakeholders.

Inceptions, Conversations, Interventions in Community-based Initiatives: Examining the role of ‘design with’
Designers often face a conundrum when approaching social innovations – existing solutions are often merely stop-gap measures, while designers are often regarded as outsiders looking in. Design With focuses on the development of a model framework for designers to be included in the inception, conversation and interventions in low funded community-based initiatives.
