Anyar

The collection is inspired by Javanese culture and tradition, revitalising it to be able to fit into the contemporary world. As we move into the digital era, traditions and cultures get lost in the course of change. Some have faded, while others are forgotten entirely. In the past, people infused cultures and crafts in their everyday practice. While Javanese culture appears simple, it binds the Javanese together as a society, conveying deep messages that remain relevant today. This project aims to explore Javanese roots and celebrate culture and traditions in order to bring enjoyment to the wearer.
